The Black Alliance for Educational Options (“BAEO”) and the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program (“GOAL”) have entered into an agreement for the operation of the BAEO-GOAL Fund to assist low-income minority families to secure greater opportunities for access to learning. Together, BAEO and GOAL work with officials from select GOAL Participating Schools to encourage parents, faculty and staff, alumni, church members, and local businesses to make Georgia income tax credit eligible contributions to GOAL. Contributions to the BAEO-GOAL Fund are used to provide GOAL scholarships to students attending specifically designated schools or to provide scholarships to students who desire to attend any of the private schools participating in the BAEO-GOAL Fund.
Presently, the private schools participating in the BAEO-GOAL Fund include:
• Atlanta Youth Academy
• Destiny Christian Academy
• Greenforest-McCalep Christian Academic Center
• Heritage Academy
• Hope Schools of Excellence
• Legacy Christian Academy
• New Birth Christian Academy
• Pathway Christian School
• Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy
• The Ron Clark Academy
BAEO’s mission is to increase access to high-quality educational options for Black children by actively supporting parental choice policies and programs that empower low-income and working class Black families.
BAEO exists to:
• Educate and inform the general public about parental choice initiatives on the local and national level
• Educate Black families about the numerous educational options available
• Create, promote and support efforts to empower Black parents to exercise choice in determining how their children are educated
• Educate and inform the general public about efforts to reduce or limit educational options available to parents
BAEO is committed to expanding the educational options available to all families - regardless of income - but its focus is on helping low income and working class black families.
The Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program is honored that BAEO has chosen GOAL as its partner in promoting the HB 1133 tuition tax credit and implementing GOAL among interested schools. GOAL is also honored that Gerard Robinson, President of BAEO, is a member of the Board of Directors of Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program, Inc.
