The GOAL Scholarship Program hosted its 2026 Regional Meetings in Duluth and Macon this September, bringing together private school leaders from across Georgia to prepare for the year ahead and discuss opportunities through both the Georgia GOAL state education tax credit program and the upcoming launch of the American GOAL federal scholarship tax credit program.

The Atlanta Area Regional Meeting was held September 3rd, followed by the Middle Georgia Regional Meeting on September 17th. Throughout both events, the GOAL team shared updates on Georgia GOAL results and trends, reviewed recent legislative developments, and provided schools with strategies for planning successful 2027 Georgia GOAL campaigns. Discussions also included 2027 proration expectations and an update on the first-ever Georgia GOAL Addback opportunity – giving taxpayers a chance to consume unfunded 2026 tax credits this fall.

A major focus of this year’s meetings was preparing schools for the launch of American GOAL in 2027. Attendees received an overview of the new federal scholarship tax credit program, guidance for preparing their schools and communities, marketing considerations, and a demonstration of the systems being developed to support participation.

School leaders also shared their perspectives on how they are preparing to implement American GOAL within their own communities. The Atlanta Area panel featured Allison Dawson of Greater Atlanta Christian School, Andrea Ferguson of North Cobb Christian School, and David Roberts of Lanier Christian Academy. The Middle Georgia panel featured Morgan Conner of Bulloch Academy, Paul McCracken of Strong Rock Christian School, and Brendan O’Kane of Mount de Sales Academy.

As schools look toward 2027, the Regional Meetings provided an opportunity to learn from one another, strengthen their Georgia GOAL strategies, and begin preparing for a new chapter of scholarship opportunities through American GOAL.
