The Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program is a powerful way for individuals and businesses to positively impact lives by making K-12 education accessible to deserving students who otherwise could not afford it.
By contributing to GOAL, Georgia taxpayers receive a 100% state income tax credit, while directly supporting tuition assistance for exceptional students desiring to attend eligible private schools.
Note that the popularity and success of this program have led to its oversubscription in recent years, resulting in each applicant being approved (or prorated) for approximately 50% of the amount requested. GOAL anticipates oversubscription and proration again for 2027, although perhaps closer to 70%, since Georgia’s elected officials just increased the available tax credits by $30 million per year.
Regardless of the proration percentage, you will receive a 100% tax credit for the amount that you contribute, making this a cost-free way to support their school community and provide life-changing opportunities for students.

To secure your 2027 GOAL tax credit, apply before the end of 2026. Georgia GOAL will handle the rest. Once your application is approved in early January, your contribution will be due by mid-March 2027.
Your participation empowers students to receive an excellent education, supports families in choosing the best educational environment for their children, and strengthens the well-being of school communities.
Pass-through businesses can achieve considerable benefits through the GOAL tax credit due to favorable state and federal tax laws and regulations. These include a state tax credit, a federal tax deduction, and a substantial philanthropic impact. Learn more here.

Congress has passed landmark school choice legislation creating a federal scholarship tax credit. Beginning in 2027, taxpayers may receive a dollar-for-dollar federal income tax credit for contributions to Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs) like the GOAL Scholarship Program.
To lead this effort, GOAL has launched the American GOAL Scholarship Program. While Georgia GOAL will continue administering the state tax credit program, American GOAL will administer the new federal tax credit program. Through American GOAL, taxpayers can redirect a portion of their federal tax liability to support financial aid at participating schools, while receiving a 100% federal income tax credit for their contribution.
